What we have learnt...

As we draw nearer and nearer to the end of this academic year and closer to our annual graduation ceremony, it is touching to reflect on all the things our students have learnt along the way:

"What I learned the most from TRWLA is self love and to be kind and have confidence in myself." - Itumeleng Mathebe

"TRWLA has taught me a multitude of skills but one that stood out for me was that the need for role models. I realized what a role models need to; flawed but with characteristics I would like to embody. That even with the role models I have now I should never forget that they are as flawed and human like I am. I realised that I too am a role model, especially with the girls at the com serve. I saw what an integral role I played at that moment to shape a piece of them. That moment of realisation made me see that I need to be aware of my action daily because I never know who I could be influencing." - Nomvula Ngwenya

"Being at TRWLA has taught me a lot about myself and others. I learned how to be more accepting of others. I also learned how to handle myself as a leader, how to handle conflict, my emotions and how to better represent myself online and offline." - Molebogeng Masango

"TRWLA has taught me more about myself. I have learnt a lot about my identity and how to carry myself as a brand. I have also learnt that social media can make or break me as a brand by the things I post and also how I react to certain things and respond to other people’s posts. I have also learnt more about my personality through the personality tests." - Siyamtanda Sineli

"Being in the academy has taught me about different ways in which women can be liberated. That being a feminist is more than just than fighting for equal rights and the empowerment of women. It goes beyond being identified as male or female, but being identified as an individual that is capable and has the power to change the world. More importantly it has engraved lifelong values that allow me to navigate through life with the belief that I can do anything and I have the potential to." - Anonymous
