Embracing yourself beyond self

“Catch on fire if you must, sometimes everything needs to burn to the ground so that we may grow”- A.J lawless

This quote embodies how being part of TRWLA has impacted my life. It taught me that the most dangerous place to remain in, is your comfort zone. I have learnt that sometimes one should not be afraid to have their familiar self shaken so that they realize their full potential.

I had always wanted to be part of something bigger than myself. When the opportunity of being part of the TuksRes Women in Leadership Academy presented itself, I knew I had to grab it by both hands. Since that day, I had not even for a second regret taking part of the academy. The academy has armored me with knowledge and insight to last me a last time. The time I spent interacting with the incredible women who were also part of the academy would not be traded with anything. Through the relations with these ladies, I learned to embrace the value and know the true meaning of leadership and solidarity.

*Community engagement*

Engaging in the community for the betterment of another individual does not impact another but it also makes you grow as an individual. Community engagement makes you feel as part of the community. This has taught me that in life one needs not to have much to do much.
